The focus of KraussMaffei’s participation in Plast 2026, through its subsidiary KraussMaffei Italia, will be the new PX series of electric injection moulding machines with MC7 control system, launched last October at K 2025. These presses are 20% more compact and 20% more energy-efficient, and the production cell set up at Plast 2026 will mould coffee capsules, an application developed in collaboration with Guala Dispensing.

Producing coffee capsules is not only a matter of handling high volumes; it also means ensuring consistent performance under continuous production pressure. With the new PX machine, cycle times are reduced to 4.5 seconds, with no compromise in quality. Maintaining this pace requires power: a challenge the German manufacturer has met while simultaneously reducing energy consumption. Thanks to energy recovery systems and optimised servo drives, the PX press minimises heat loss and optimises consumption, making production not only faster, but also more sustainable from both an economic and environmental standpoint.

The company’s stand will also showcase some of the most innovative processes developed by KraussMaffei. These include Multinject, which enables different materials to be combined in a single injection cycle, for example by means of sandwich injection and rotary platen technology; DCIM and IMC, which make it possible to design components while significantly reducing material costs without affecting quality; and ColorForm, for in-mould integrated polyurethane coating and the production of ultra-glossy, durable surfaces in a single cycle. ColorForm in particular will be the subject of the seminar entitled “Forget painting: Start impressing: High quality surfaces in one step”, scheduled for 12 June, offering an in-depth look at the process from both a technological and application perspective.

“We are pioneers in ColorForm technology, and at Plast 2026 we will be exploring all its competitive advantages in the dedicated event area. This revolutionary solution integrates moulding and coating in a single automated cell, eliminating post-processing logistics costs and delivering ready-to-use components with impeccable aesthetic quality and scrap reduced to a minimum,” said Luigi Tondi, Sales Director of KraussMaffei Italia.
