Three new moulds from Haidlmair

At K 2025, Haidlmair presented three highly technological moulds. The Design container 6DC (6 Drinks Crate), exhibited at the Austrian mould maker's stand, integrates many of the latest solutions. Among those adopted are hybrid components for reduced cycle times and optimal product quality, the latest version of the FDU hot runner nozzle and real-time production monitoring and documentation through Digital Moulds' Mould Monitoring system. FDU (Flat Die Unit) technology is developed by FDU Hotrunner, a subsidiary of Haidlmair, and represents an evolution compared to traditional nozzles in hot runner systems.

Haibox was installed and operating on the new MacroPower 500/3400 press from Wittmann Battenfeld and was moulding rigid containers. Equipped with exclusive Active Mould technology, the mould components are able to actively adapt to material shrinkage during the cooling phase thanks to controlled movement of the mould's "cheeks", namely its movable walls for lateral closure. Among the mould's other notable features are: telescopic cooling without tubes, which increases water flow and prevents production stoppages due to leaks; centralised single-circuit cooling, resulting in shorter setup times, reduced footprint in the machine and lower risk of errors due to incorrect circuit connections; hybrid core columns, which improve cooling efficiency, expand thermal management possibilities and allow personalised choice of material combinations to reduce wear.

Wild Pot was instead installed on an EcoPower 180/750+ DC press, also from Wittmann Battenfeld, and was producing containers with textured surfaces in 100% recycled material. What characterises this mould for processing recycled material is the use, again in this case, of FDU hot runner technology.
