Complying with UL 94, the international reference standard for the flammability classification of plastic materials, is now easier than ever with Gibitre – Flammability Check: the professional instrument designed to optimise material development processes and ensure full regulatory compliance in the laboratory.
Robust structure and total test visibility. The stainless steel test chamber is designed to combine robustness and practicality: the tempered glass window and internal lighting ensure optimal visibility throughout the entire test sequence, under fully safe operating conditions.
Precision from flame to timer. At the heart of the system is a Bunsen burner compliant with ASTM D 5025, mounted on an adjustable support that allows the flame angle to be set at 0°, 20° or 45° depending on the test method. A precision flow meter ensures accurate gas flow regulation, while the integrated digital thermometer allows verification that the flame temperature reaches the values required by the standard before starting the test.
Positioning is managed by two independent pneumatic slides: one controls the movement of the burner, the other adjusts the distance between the specimen and the flame. This dual adjustment ensures a repeatable and precise set-up, minimising the variables that may affect the result.
The timer, with a resolution of 0.1 seconds, ensures maximum accuracy in recording burning times – a critical parameter for correct classification according to the standard.
Compliant specimen holders, adaptable to any geometry. The available specimen holders – compatible with VB, MVB, HB and HBF tests – are fully compliant with the standard and designed to accommodate the different geometries and characteristics of the specimens.
Safety and operator comfort. The fume extractor completes the equipment, helping to maintain a safe working environment even during extended or serial testing sessions.
The solution for laboratories and manufacturers. Gibitre – Flammability Check is the practical answer for quality control laboratories and manufacturers who need a reliable, accurate and standards-compliant instrument to assess the flammability of their materials and optimise product development processes in full accordance with UL 94.
