Transition 4.0 and energy savings for CMG machines

The range of machines manufactured by CMG, including granulators, shredders, feeder belts, evacuation and conveyor systems, dedusting, dust management and filtration equipment, has obtained the Industry 4.0 conformity certificate and, therefore, complies with the requirements of Italy’s Transition 4.0 National Plan. The news was announced by the company, specifying that the conformity certificate covers all the distinctive elements of the individual products destined for the following application sectors: thermoforming, extrusion, blow moulding, injection molding, recycling.

In addition to Industry 4.0 conformity, all CMG units for medium to high capacity applications - from 200 to over 5,000 kg/hour – feature the Adaptive Motor Power (AMP) device. This allows the machines to determine the power requirement necessary to perform the actual process, depending on the quantity, shape, weight, thickness, type and temperature of the material to be processed. The AMP device minimizes power consumption and optimizes the quality of the regrind in terms of particle homogeneity and absence of dust. According to the company, the energy consumption of CMG machines is of between 20 and 25 Wh/kg, compared to 40 Wh/kg of a conventional unit, which results in a return on investment for an AMP device inferior to 12 months.
