New plant and technical partnership: BG Plast strengthens in extrusion coating

BG Plast has recently installed a state-of-the-art 3,200 mm extrusion coating line at a converting plant in Poland and launched a technical-commercial partnership with Extech, marking a structured entry into the coating sector for construction and industrial applications. This development builds on years of expertise in the lamination of plastic materials with textile and natural substrates.
The new plant in Poland is specifically designed for the production of waterproofing films for the construction industry. With its generous working width of 3,200 mm, it enables the production of large-format rolls ideal for applications such as moisture barriers and roofing membranes. Drawing on BG Plast’s extensive experience in multilayer extrusion, the line is capable of processing a wide range of polymers, including PVC, TPU, EVA, PP, TPO, TPV, as well as flexible substrates such as nonwovens and textile meshes. These advanced capabilities allow the system to support highly specialised production, ensuring uniform thickness, strong interlayer adhesion, high aesthetic quality, and excellent mechanical performance. The line’s flexible layout also allows for future upgrades, integration of quality control systems, and adaptation to sustainable or recycled materials.

The collaboration with Extech, an Italian company based in Oleggio (Novara) that specialises in the design and manufacture of plastic film extrusion lines and custom solutions for flexible packaging, is aimed at supporting BG Plast’s expansion in the coating sector. This all-Italian synergy is focused on developing advanced, high value-added solutions by combining BG Plast’s expertise in modular, high-precision plants for large-scale coating with Extech’s proficiency in handling complex technical materials, including barrier films and multilayer structures for industrial, construction, and food applications. The partnership will focus on optimising plant architecture – especially extrusion coating lines designed for multilayer lamination, surface treatment, and the integration of recycled materials – aligned with principles of the circular economy and sustainable innovation. The agreement represents a concrete opportunity to respond quickly and competently to the increasing demand for advanced customisation from converters, offering turnkey plants ready to meet the challenges of today’s and tomorrow’s market and regulatory landscape.
This strategic initiative, including the partnership with Extech, will be showcased at K 2025, featuring technical models and demonstration videos of the new 3,200 mm line. The company will also present configurations for multilayer coating of up to six layers on textile and composite substrates, as well as its complete range of precision calenders, with working widths from 450 mm to 4,800 mm.
