Calibration tank with dual vacuum chamber

Developed by Baruffaldi Plastic Technology and marketed under the Primac label, the new CV-2C/630-9/3P calibration tank has been developed especially for countries with hotter climates. It differs from more traditional solutions due to its dual vacuum chamber and two additional hot water evacuation pumps, which improve calibration and cooling of the end product.
The calibration tanks are made from stainless steel and can have a single or dual vacuum chamber for 10 to 1000 mm diameter pipes. The machines is attached to a stainless steel base fitted with independent, automatic and manual controls for adjusting the longitudinal and crosswise positions on the extrusion line. They also have a water cooling system complete with thermostats and control valves to reduce water consumption and keep cooling temperatures constant.
A jet of pressurised water is sprayed onto the pipe via atomising nozzles mounted on a stainless steel bar. The angle of the jet can be adjusted and the water is cleansed and recycled using a by-pass filter to prevent the nozzles from becoming blocked with residue. A motor linked to a fixed rail on the floor drives the longitudinal movements. The dual chamber tanks make it easier to initiate the extrusion cycle and also reduce the amount of scrap produced at the beginning of the cycle as well as machine downtime. This calibration tank is also able to calibrate non-circular, closed profiles.
