Frigel focuses on intelligent thermoregulation and modular refrigeration at K
At K, Frigel, a global supplier of cooling and temperature control solutions, presents two technologies destined to mark a turning point in plastics processing: Dynamico, an AI-assisted dynamic mould thermoregulation system, and HVM, a sustainable and high-efficiency modular refrigeration system.
With Dynamico, Frigel introduces a paradigm shift in cooling management: no longer water temperature as the control variable, but cycle time. The unit directly replaces conventional thermoregulators in existing moulds and, through advanced algorithms and process data entered by the operator, guides step by step towards reducing cooling times to the minimum that still guarantees product quality.
In technical component production, replacing traditional thermoregulators with Dynamico can lead to productivity increases of between 20% and 50%, whilst in polyolefin moulding improvements range from 10% to 25%. Production cell efficiency increases to generate cost savings of up to 15% per piece, with return on investment in just a few months.
The heart of the innovation is dynamic mould thermoregulation: Dynamico automatically regulates water temperatures in the various cooling phases and, in some cases, modulates flows in the two mould halves through powerful booster pumps. These offer up to 500% more flow rate compared to conventional thermoregulators, guaranteeing highly turbulent flows in channels, maximum heat exchange with cavities, and unprecedented cooling performance.
Supporting the operator is Dynamico Wizard, exclusive software developed by Frigel that uses "AI-assisted" algorithms. The intuitive interface allows verification of cycle time reduction in just a few cycles and saves "mould recipes" in the system memory, easily recalled for each subsequent use. The range, available in two versions (with or without integrated chiller), covers all injection moulding requirements for packaging and technical components, with capacities up to 320 kg/h per unit. Furthermore, Internet connectivity opens the way to continuous learning, with algorithms capable of progressively improving performance thanks to data from all machines and moulds connected to the network.
Alongside Dynamico, Frigel presents the HVM modular chiller system, an innovative, scalable and sustainable solution designed for industrial applications, particularly in plastics processing. The combination of energy efficiency, operational flexibility and rapid return on investment makes HVM a strategic choice for reducing installation and operating costs.
HVM chillers are available with two low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants: R513A, non-flammable, and R290 (propane). Thanks to the modular design, multiple units can be connected in series or parallel, maximising efficiency even at partial loads. Each module is equipped with an advanced microprocessor to precisely regulate cooling capacity and balance load between installed units.
Standard equipment includes: variable speed compressor, stainless steel plate evaporator, electronic expansion valve, aluminium alloy condensers, brushless axial fans, inverter process pump and an integrated digital controller that ensures efficient operation under all operating conditions.
The modular structure also offers practical advantages: the plug & play design simplifies installation and expansion, reducing costs and eliminating the risk of single point of failure, thanks to redundancy and operational continuity. The system also integrates a hydronic section (HDM), configurable with or without power distribution and with open tank, complete with robust and protected electrical panel for outdoor use, with single power supply input.
Single HVM modules are available in 90-, 180- and 300-kW sizes: the first with inverter screw compressors for R513A, the second with brushless Scroll compressors for R290. The maximum capacity of the entire modular system can reach 1,500 kW, guaranteeing solutions suitable even for the most demanding installations.
