Mech-I-Tronic strengthens its position in pharmaceutical packaging

Active worldwide in the development of advanced mechatronic solutions for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and packaging sectors, Mech-I-Tronic group has strengthened its growth strategy in the pharmaceutical packaging sector through the acquisition of Rotzinger PharmaPack (previously part of the Rotzinger Group), a company based near Stuttgart employing around 110 people and which in 2025 recorded revenue of approximately 26 million euros.

This acquisition broadens Mech-I-Tronic’s expertise in high value-added industrial segments, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector, where automation, traceability and process quality are indispensable requirements. It also strengthens the group’s position in the pharmaceutical packaging technology sector. With its entry into Mech-I-Tronic, Rotzinger PharmaPack becomes part of a network of 14 highly specialised companies, capable of providing tailored automation solutions for complex industrial applications. In 2025, the Mech-I-Tronic group recorded total revenue of more than 200 million euros, with an Ebitda of 30 million euros.

Rotzinger PharmaPack is a centre of expertise for automation and packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. Its solutions range from standalone machines to turnkey packaging systems, including filling and capping machines, as well as cartoning and product traceability solutions. The company also offers solutions for the digitalisation of production and packaging processes. Following its integration into Mech-I-Tronic, Rotzinger PharmaPack’s core business, team and engineering know-how will remain unchanged, and the company will continue to serve its global customer base from a new dedicated facility in Waiblingen, designed to support future growth.

“Being part of Mech-I-Tronic provides us with the support and momentum we need to focus on our core strengths: developing packaging solutions that create real value for our customers”, said Marc Wilhelms, Chief Executive Officer of Rotzinger PharmaPack. “At the same time, the group’s philosophy allows us to retain the agility that enables us to respond quickly and flexibly to customer requirements”.

“The pharmaceutical industry is a strategic market for advanced automation technologies”, stated Marco Giovannini, President of Mech-I-Tronic. “With Rotzinger PharmaPack, we are adding exceptional expertise in pharmaceutical packaging and further strengthening our technology portfolio.”
