The future of injection moulding presented by Arburg Italia
On 29 and 30 October, Arburg Italia opened the doors of its headquarters in Peschiera Borromeo (Milan) for the Iniezione Next open house, an event dedicated to injection moulding with a strong focus on the future, featuring the latest technologies and processes developed by the German manufacturer. Taking centre stage was the new fully electric Allrounder 1000 e Trend machine, which moulded a furniture component in paper and polymer, accompanied by an Allrounder 470 A Comfort, also electric, which produced beer glasses in BPA-free polymer, with the assistance of a Multilift Select 8 robot. This range of manipulators also had a dedicated corner, where a Select 4 model was prominently displayed.
The electric press from the new Trend series, launched as a world première at K 2025, was presented on this occasion with detailed explanations of all its range characteristics, which the German manufacturer intends will set a new standard in injection moulding. These include ease of use, reduced maintenance, compact footprint, low investment costs, short-term ROI, contained TCO and energy efficiency. The range is already available for initial deliveries in 2026, but once series production begins, delivery times will be just four weeks from order. The presses will be available with clamping forces from 500 to 1,800 kN (optionally up to 2,000 kN), injection units from 100 to 800 and injection speeds up to 500 mm/s. The new Gestica Lite control system also generated considerable interest. Robust, intuitive and simplified, it is easy to use even for inexperienced personnel.
The two-day programme, which attracted numerous processors and injection moulding professionals, featured a rich agenda of topics and thematic sessions open to the public on the manufacturer's digital products – ALS 8.0 and arburgXworld – government incentives – with participation from partner Atlante Group – Gestica machine control and digital assistants, and robots, automation and predictive maintenance.
