Lorenzo Bottinelli is the new CEO at Basf Italia
The board of directors of Basf Italia has appointed Lorenzo Bottinelli as the new CEO and vice president of the Italian branch of the German multinational. Bottinelli takes over from Andreas Riehemann, who has been at the helm of the Italian company since 2016.
Born in 1973, Bottinelli is a chemist with a Master's degree in Business Administration. He has many years of experience with Basf, holding positions of growing responsibility. He started out in the Coatings Division and moved onto sales, becoming head of sales in 2017. The new CEO has therefore been on a twenty-year path of growth within the group, which has enabled him to build in-depth knowledge of the industry and markets and this also goes to confirm Basf's commitment to valuing its human resources.

I clearly feel the responsibility of representing a large group like Basf in a strategic country like Italy, especially in a delicate and dramatic time in history like the one we are experiencing. The challenges that await, also and especially when the emergency will be behind us, are multiple and complex and require an extraordinary commitment, this much is clear. I remain, however, wholly confident in the contribution that Basf will continue to offer to key sectors in Italian products, such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, biomedical products, design, construction, and personal care.
