Dosi Group, which includes Baruffaldi Plastic Technology and Primac, has recently acquired a majority stake in Italsigma, a company specialising since 1982 in the design and manufacture of customised testing systems for industrial products. This acquisition marks the creation of a new centre of excellence dedicated to mechanical design, automation, and quality control, further enhancing Dosi Group’s ability to offer integrated solutions for the manufacturing industry.

Founded in 1929 by Angelo Dosi as a workshop specialising in iron structures and agricultural mechanics, the company has undergone various stages of development. In the 1970s, under the leadership of his son Francesco Dosi, it began producing machinery for the footwear, rubber, and plastics sectors, contributing to the growth of the local industry. In 1996, with Alberto Dosi at the helm, the current industrial structure took shape: Dosi Costruzioni Meccaniche was founded, producing medium-heavy precision mechanical components as a subcontractor. The company adopted a new strategic vision: to excel in niche markets within mechanical technologies with an international outlook.

The acquisition of Baruffaldi Plastic Technology took place in 2008, followed in 2012 by that of the Primac brand, both specialising in the production of automatic machinery for processing plastic materials. Thus, Dosi Group was born, capable of managing the entire production chain and offering a unique combination of expertise, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness in the plastic extrusion and mechanical construction markets.

Since 2016, all production units have operated from the headquarters in Fusignano (Ravenna, Italy), and today the group distributes its systems in over 40 countries worldwide, with a strong focus on innovation, research, and sustainability. With the acquisition of Italsigma, the group expands further into the laboratory testing machine sector and increases opportunities to leverage productive, technological, and service synergies across its companies.

"Italsigma has been a symbol of expertise and innovation in industrial testing for over forty years. We are proud to welcome them into our group, confident that this synergy will lead to new solutions for the industry of the future," said Alberto Dosi, CEO of Dosi Group.

Italsigma’s expertise will complement Dosi Group’s know-how in the construction of automatic machines, creating a unique partner capable of managing the entire process from design to final product testing. The entry of Italsigma opens up new prospects, where testing and inspection expertise can contribute to quality improvement and the optimisation of automated production lines offered to the market. This move forms part of the group’s growth strategy, aimed at expanding its scope and responding in an increasingly comprehensive and customised way to the evolving needs of the manufacturing sector.
