When extrusion rhymes with customization

Amut provides customizable solutions in pipe extrusion in terms of both materials and diameters.
Based in Novara (Italy), Amut's most recent products include a line sold in Vietnam for the extrusion of PE 100 pipes with external diameters of up to 1000 mm. A compact, newly conceived extrusion head and an extruder able to produce up to 1200 kg/hour were custom developed for this project. The head features a 16-spiral distribution system to ensure perfect uniformity of pipe wall thickness. The extruder has a bimetallic cylinder and an anti-wear nickel-plated screw (colmonoy).
For the automotive sector, Amut proposes extrusion lines for PA tube with up to 5 layers used principally as fuel or hydraulic lines. The tubes are distinguished for their flexibility, low water absorption and high resistance to low temperatures, moisture, breakage and abrasion. The system that controls tube diameter and wall thickness ensures high and consistent quality, even in conditions of frequent changes in tube type and dimensions.
This type of plant is provided with gravimetric dosing units to ensure constant thickness of each layer and to control tube weight and dimensions. The plasticization units, cylinders and screws are all made of special alloys to provide good abrasion and corrosion resistance. They feature special geometrical design to ensure high production levels, constant melt quality and low energy consumption. Reduced friction of material in the calibration units makes it possible to control the tension on the tube in order to achieve high extrusion speed (for example, up to 60-70 metres per minute for 5-layer tubes).
The range of products includes lines for pipes and tubes: in PVC with diameters from 16 to 2000 mm (pipes) and from 8 to 63 mm (tubes); in single-layer or multi-layer PE with diameter ranging from 16 to 1600 mm; special multi-layer tubes, in XPE for heating systems, in PA for fuel and hydraulic lines, in PP with a fibreglass-reinforced inner layer for hot water for showers and faucets, and in reinforced, foam, corrugated or biaxially oriented PVC hoses and tubes for gardening, irrigation, the automotive industry and other applications.
