Wittmann towards K: investments and innovations despite sales contraction

At the pre-K 2025 conference held online on 2 October, Wittmann presented the results for the first nine months of the year, highlighting a 10% contraction in sales compared to the same period in 2024. The company attributes this decline to the high uncertainty characterising investments in the sector, with particular reference to the European market.

Despite the general slowdown, the company is recording strong investments in Germany. Forecasts for 2025 confirm an overall decrease in sales compared to the previous year, whilst for 2026 sales are expected to remain at 2025 levels. The company's workforce currently stands at 2,100 employees.

Wittmann is pursuing significant investments in its production facilities globally. In China, the inauguration ceremony for a new 15,000-square-metre plant will be held on 10 December 2025. In Poland, a new facility with a 1,000-square-metre operational area was completed in June 2025. The company has also established a new local subsidiary in Morocco, with a plant operational from 1 September 2025.

At the K 2025 trade fair in Düsseldorf (8-15 October), Wittmann will present various technological solutions. Amongst the injection moulding machines, the Macropower series from 400-600 tonnes and the Ecoprimus 100 stand out, alongside robotic solutions for automation. Particular attention will be dedicated to the Macropower 650/2250H/1330H with Combimould technology and rotation unit for two-component moulding, which will produce a laundry basket with 1+1 cavities in PP + TPE with Primus 148T robot automation. The Combimould configuration offers significant space savings: the machine's reduced footprint and two horizontal injection units reduce the space required in width and height without compromising injection volume, enabling robot assembly without the restrictions typical of vertical or S-type injection units.

Also on display will be the SmartPower 160/1000 with integrated robotic cell (insider cell) for producing aerosol spray caps with 8 cavities in PP, automated with the W918 robot. The machine is distinguished by its compact design which optimises production space thanks to the integrated robotic cell and electric injection unit offering superior performance without requiring additional space, eliminating the air reservoir. The SmartPower 160/1000 is equipped with the new Wittmann WFC plus flow regulator with Net8 control.
