Recyclable PE-barrier stand-up pouches
In the run-up to the forthcoming K 2025 in Düsseldorf, Colines has produced stand-up pouches laminated with a high-quality 70-micron PE-barrier film, combined with a 25-micron printable cast MDO-PE film manufactured with a stretch ratio of 4.8:1. The latter, produced with ExxonMobil resins, was subsequently printed on a flexographic line by Sumer Plastik, a long-standing partner of Colines. The PE-barrier film was manufactured on a PolyBlown line identical to the one the company will showcase in operation at the German exhibition, where the stand-up pouches will also be on display.
“We are truly delighted with the excellent results achieved with our MDO-PE film, also thanks to the significant progress made in our technology. The consistency of performance, the optical properties and the processability clearly highlight the advantages of our most recent innovations,” said Nicola Lombardini, R&D Director at Colines.
“The film proved to be extremely easy to handle and process, with parameters very similar to those of BOPP film and zero issues during the converting stage. Moreover, the quality of the cast MDO-PE film turned out to be significantly more stable and consistent compared to the same film manufactured with blown technology,” added Mustafa Tacir, owner of Sumer Plastik.
