The brand new blow-moulding machine PB50ES-1000 Coex3 developed by Plastiblow for the production of stackable 20-litre jerrycans with 3-layer wall through a 2-cavity mould features a clamping unit with a closing force of 50 tons, three high output horizontal extruders, one with a diameter of 100 mm for the middle layer and two with a diameter of 80 mm for the outer and inner layers, and a dual 3-layer coextrusion head with 200-mm die and 400-mm centre distance.
The 2-cavity mould has a moveable bottom section, driven by electric servomotors, and allows reaching hourly production of over 240 jerrycans. The new model, made for processors who have high productivity needs, is also available in a dual station and dual head version, with a production capacity of more than 480 pcs/h. At the K 2022 show, where the machine was presented, jerrycans were made using an HDPE compound based on odourless recycled material, which can be coloured and aesthetically comparable to the virgin material, thanks to the collaboration with the company TotalEnergies.
On Plastiblow blow-moulding machines, electric axes controlled by brushless motors, efficient kinematics, linear guides, roller bearings and kinetic energy recovery modules allow achieving strong reductions in energy consumption, up to 70% lower than those of obsolete hydraulic machines.
