BPF appoints new president

At its recent annual general meeting, the British Plastics Federation (BPF) elected Nigel Flowers, managing director of Sumitomo (SHI) Demag UK subsidiary, as its new chairman.

With more than 35 years of experience in the plastics industry, member of the management board and former vice-president of BPF, as well as of various of its committees (manufacturing, industrial health and safety, education and skills, and responsible for the promotion and support of employment in the plastics in the UK), Flowers succeeds Karen Drinkwater.

Past president of the Polymer Machinery Manufacturers & Distributors Association and member of various British industrial institutes, also in the new role, he will continue to represent BSI (British Standard Institution) on the CEN and ISO committees.
