JEC Forum Italy 2027 on the banks of the Po
The third edition of JEC Forum Italy will take place on 8 and 9 June 2027 in Turin, one of Europe’s leading hubs for advanced manufacturing and innovation in the field of composite materials. The announcement follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between JEC and Ceipiemonte with the support of the Piedmont Region. The aim is to further strengthen the already solid ties with the region’s industrial and research ecosystem. Assocompositi, the Italian composites industry association and JEC’s long-standing partner, was present at the signing, which took place during JEC World 2026. After two editions in Bologna and Cernobbio (Como), JEC Forum Italy is now moving to Turin, a city that combines a well-established industrial tradition with a dynamic innovation ecosystem. Piedmont is a major European hub for advanced manufacturing, with expertise ranging from automotive and aerospace to mechatronics, healthcare and industrial technologies, placing it at the heart of several strategic application sectors for composites.
“Bringing the 2027 edition of JEC Forum Italy to Turin means recognising Piedmont as a central player in the European supply chains of advanced manufacturing and composite materials. It is the outcome of the work that the Region, together with other institutional partners, has carried out to strengthen the area’s attractiveness and to create the conditions needed for investment, innovation and major international events to choose our production system,” said Andrea Tronzano, Regional Councillor for Budget, Productive Activities Development and Internationalisation of the Piedmont Region, stressing that the Forum represents an opportunity to showcase the strengths of Piedmont’s industry on a global stage and to open up new growth and market opportunities for the region’s companies.
“With this third edition, JEC Forum Italy continues to grow and to consolidate its role as a strategic business platform for the Italian composites community, which is still expanding strongly. After Bologna and Cernobbio, hosting the event in Turin – the heart of Piedmont’s industrial excellence – marks a new milestone. The signing of the memorandum of understanding with Ceipiemonte, together with our long-standing collaboration with Assocompositi, provides a solid foundation for international development and innovation,” said Anne-Carole Barbarin, Regional Events Director at JEC.
“Thanks to our participation in JEC events over the years, we have been able to witness their strong ability to bring together industry, research and innovation. With a dynamic ecosystem of around 9,000 companies operating in sectors such as mobility, aerospace, mechatronics and healthcare, Piedmont offers a significant platform for the development and application of advanced technologies in the field of composites,” commented Dario Peirone, Chairman of Ceipiemonte, welcoming the announcement of Turin as the host city for JEC Forum Italy 2027 and highlighting the region’s strong industrial base and its long-standing commitment to the global composites community.
Italy accounts for around 15% of European composite materials production, thanks to a strong network of SMEs and a diversified industrial base that combines traditional manufacturing with cutting-edge technological applications. “Italy’s position within the European landscape highlights not only its significant production capacity, but also its growth potential linked to technological development, sustainability and demand for advanced solutions in key industrial sectors, particularly marine, automotive, aerospace and construction. For this reason, the choice of Turin for the next edition of JEC Forum Italy represents a decision of great strategic value,” explained Roberto Frassine, Chairman of Assocompositi.
The ongoing collaboration with Assocompositi ensures strong mobilisation across the entire composites value chain in Italy, from material manufacturers and processors to machinery producers and the main application industries. JEC Forum Italy 2027 will be held at OGR (Officine Grandi Riparazioni) Torino, a former 35,000-square-metre railway workshop transformed into a hub dedicated to culture, technology and business acceleration, providing an ideal setting for high-level exchange within the sector.
