The fourteenth edition of the European Thermoforming Conference is coming up

Thermoforming is a highly dynamic manufacturing technology that plays a decisive role in shaping the future of the European plastics industry. Rising material costs, stricter sustainability regulations, and increasing competitive pressure are accelerating the need for efficient, stable, and data-driven thermoforming processes. Against this backdrop, the European Thermoforming Conference 2026, taking place from 3 to 5 March in Strasbourg, has established itself as the key platform for knowledge exchange and strategic dialogue within industry.

Organized by the SPE European Thermoforming Division, the conference brings together 200 to 250 participants from across Europe and the United States, representing the entire thermoforming value chain - from machine and tool manufacturers to materiai suppliers, brand owners, and processors. lts focus is on practical solutions rather than sales-driven presentations. Speakers from industry and research present real-world case studies, technological breakthroughs, and measurable best practices.

The conference program addresses the industry's most pressing challenges. Sessions cover process stability, temperature control, automation, digitalization, and energy efficiency, as well as advanced material concepts such as monomaterials and the reliable use of post-consumer recyclates in compliance with the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Both Thin Gauge and Heavy Gauge thermoforming are discussed in parallel tracks, ensuring relevance for a wide range of applications.

A key theme is the economic impact of stable processes. Optimized thermoforming operations lead to higher Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), lower scrap rates, reduced energy consumption, and faster time-to-market. Achieving these gains requires close collaboration between machine builders, material experts, and toolmakers - exactly the dialogue the conference is designed to foster.

With dedicated workshops on fundamentals, in-depth technical sessions, and forward-looking presentations on digital and sustainable thermoforming, the European Thermoforming Conference 2026 offers valuable insights for anyone aiming to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving market.
