Innovative materials thermoforming takes centre stage at K 2025

A new product line from Thermapet is being developed at OMG, an Italian company specialising in the construction of thermoforming machines based in Givoletto (Turin). The two companies are collaborating on the development of PET containers capable of withstanding use in both conventional and microwave ovens without deformation.

The specific technical solution developed by OMG for this application will be presented at the K 2025 trade fair and has already been integrated into a pilot machine prototype operating in Thailand. Specifically, at the German event in Düsseldorf, a machine compatible with TPET production will be presented, but without the device that gives the standard polymer the properties of the latter, which is currently still awaiting patent approval.

With a strong commitment to innovation and the development of solutions for processing new materials, in recent years OMG has developed thermoforming machines capable of transforming CPET and CPLA. These solutions eliminate the need for preforms, operating directly on the mould to crystallise the material. The same technologies also enable the drying of paper, transforming it into containers with performance and forms comparable to those of traditional plastic packaging.
