A new paradigm of speed, precision and aesthetics

It is called Racer 3 and it is the first in a new family of robots that is set to become, to all effects, the new paradigm of the Comau range. Recently unveiled before the public, it is made entirely of aluminium and magnesium, weighs 30 kg, and has a maximum reach of 630 mm, with a wrist capacity of 3 kg. Thanks to its compact dimensions and extreme speed - in preliminary tests, this latter feature earned Racer3 a place among the fastest models in its  class - this robot is perfect for many production sectors, including plastics processing, and for various applications that demand the utmost precision and speed in limited workspaces.

The rigidity that characterizes Racer3 guarantees speed, precision and repeatability in every working phase it executes. Furthermore, the robot has a hollow body, which facilitates the passage of the wires inside it and allows maximum flexibility of movement. In addition, this model provides confirmation of Comau’s custom of investing in style and design, and the result is a robot that combines high performance levels with pleasing aesthetics. It is also interesting the note the combination of colours used, which serves to underline the evolution of Comau’s production and to mark a new phase in the life of the company: indeed, the  black and metallic grey distinguishes Racer3 from the red robots produced by this Piedmont-based manufacturer, which has been serving all the sectors of the manufacturing industry for over 40 years.

Racer3, the first of a new generation of robots for general industry, is a concrete example of intensive research and development, a factor that has helped to place this company among the leading manufacturers in this sector. Comau’s constant commitment to innovation is seen as the driving force behind its evolution, both in terms of new technological developments and openness to new markets and application areas.
