Two innovations from Engel for the Indian market
The Engel Group is presenting innovative manufacturing solutions at Plastindia 2026 in New Delhi from 5 to 10 February, specifically tailored to the dynamic requirements of the Indian market. Visitors to the Engel stand can experience two product launches developed exclusively for India – a fully electric injection moulding machine and a new two-platen solution from Electronica Plastic Machines, a member of the Engel Group since 2024.
With its two brands, Engel and Electronica, the company highlights how advanced machine concepts and digital solutions sustainably enhance competitiveness in key industries such as automotive, technical injection moulding, medical technology and packaging. Electronica injection moulding solutions developed specifically for the local market underline the commitment to offering high-performance, cost-effective solutions – directly on site and close to the customer.
Engel and Electronica Plastic Machines are presenting a high-performance two-platen injection moulding machine with 6,500 kN clamping force at Plastindia 2026. Electronica manufactures the machine specifically for the Indian market, and it will celebrate its premiere at the trade fair – marking an absolute first for India. The exhibit showcases an application from technical injection moulding, placing the spotlight on the new machine and its enhanced performance and cost-efficiency. The highly economical two-platen injection moulding solution offers high energy efficiency, short cycle times and outstanding repeatability – even with large shot weights. The digital assistance system iQ weight control ensures consistently high quality by compensating for material fluctuations in real time, which can reduce scrap by up to 50%.
Plastindia will also see the unveiling of a fully electric injection moulding machine from Electronica with a clamping force of 1,000 kN – a first of its kind for the Indian market. This compact innovation combines high energy efficiency, excellent process stability and minimal maintenance, offering a competitive edge for manufacturers in cost-sensitive sectors. The exhibit demonstrates the production of toothpaste tube closures – showcasing a solution that helps processors reduce operating costs, improve part quality and meet stringent hygiene standards. Thanks to its oil-free drive system, the fully electric machine minimises contamination risks, while delivering precise, repeatable results with short cycle times and low energy consumption.
