Compact co-extruders: small footprint, high performance

In the extrusion industry, versatility and space optimisation are not merely optional features but genuine requirements. To meet these needs, Friul Filiere offers its low-capacity U series coextruders – models 13 and 22 – designed to deliver high performance while maintaining a compact footprint. The units are engineered for integration into existing production lines.

The U13 model offers a high degree of versatility, making it ideal for processing a wide range of materials, including PVC, PE, PP, PS, PMMA, TPE and ABS. Thanks to custom flanges, couplings and connectors, it can be adapted in a true plug-and-play manner to existing configurations. This version is available in three speed categories – slow, fast and special – and with various L/D ratios from 17 to 25, in order to meet specific material processing requirements and deliver output capacities ranging from 0.5 to 2 kg per hour.

The recently redesigned U22 coextruder features optimised adjustment of extrusion height by means of thrust bearings, ensuring reduced operating effort and high precision. This model is equipped with a PLC and intuitive software for real-time monitoring of process data and variables, as well as for remote assistance via Ethernet. Upgraded insulated cables and thermostatically controlled water circulation provide improved thermal management and cost savings. A new device enables the barrel to be tilted by 180°, making maintenance and operation easier. The U22 coextruder offers an output capacity ranging from 1 to 10 kg per hour.
