Davis-Standard to acquire FB Balzanelli

Specialised in the manufacture of automatic coilers for the plastic pipe sector, FB Balzanelli has announced it has entered into a definitive agreement for its sale to Davis-Standard, an equipment manufacturer and service provider to the pipe segment. Davis-Standard, majority-owned by funds affiliated with Gamut Capital Management since December 2021, serves the global infrastructure and packaging markets with a wide range of highly engineered extrusion lines and converting systems, supported by world-class spare parts, services and customer care. Completion of the transaction is expected following customary approvals and conditions.

Headquartered in Milan, with manufacturing facilities in Fano and an after-sales office in Tennessee (USA), FB Balzanelli is widely recognised as a leading global manufacturer of winders. Founded in 1994 by Vincenzo Balzanelli, the family-run company has an annual production capacity of 125 machines and has sold more than 1,400 winders across over 60 countries. Its product portfolio includes ultra-high-speed winders, winders for large-diameter smooth PE pipes up to 250 mm, and fully integrated coil-handling automation systems encompassing palletising, wrapping and the automated management of all ancillary operations.
