Elix Polymers has taken a decisive step towards building a more sustainable future with the launch of its new 2025-2030 Sustainability Strategy. A transformative roadmap that strengthens its leadership in the transition to a circular, low-carbon economy. The new strategy integrates sustainability across all Elix Polymers' operations, the value chain and the business model. This new roadmap, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforces the company's commitment to driving decarbonisation and circularity throughout its value chain.

Goals for a sustainable future are 25% of its product portfolio will consist of circular and bio-based solutions by 2030; reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 63% by 2030, with the goal of achieving net‑zero emissions by 2050; strengthening employees' sense of belonging and well-being; having a positive impact on the social, environmental and economic landscape.

Elix Polymers has already made significant progress on its sustainability journey, with the challenges set out in the 2020-2025 Sustainability Strategy Action Plan: by 2025 it had achieved a 56% reduction in the organisation's greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2020; by 2025 it had reduced its water consumption by 20% compared to 2020; it has been certified in the Operation Clean Sweep programme, meeting the challenge of zero pellet loss; 70% of its key suppliers are assessed based on ESG criteria; it has 30% of its E-Loop product catalogue available, being its brand for circular innovations and sustainable solutions; it has participated in 10 social projects.

The 2025-2030 Sustainability Strategy integrates sustainability across the company, promoting strategic partnerships, responsible innovation and rigorous governance. The new Action Plan integrates concrete short, medium and long-term actions, as well as monitoring, reporting and communication systems to ensure transparency.

“This new strategy is the result of a collaborative effort and reflects our ambition to lead responsibly, generating shared value for the entire value chain. We want to be an active part of the sustainable transformation of the sector, and this roadmap shows us the way,” said David Castañeda, CEO of Elix Polymers.

Since 2016, Elix Polymers has prepared and published its sustainability reports annually following the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards. These reports transparently reflect the progress, challenges and achievements made over the years, reaffirming its commitment to corporate responsibility and continuous improvement.
