Technology - Wednesday, 21 February 2018

The Australian processor Polycell commissioned Colines to build another Power Bubble 3000 line for the production of air bubble films, tested in the manufacturer’s factory in Bastia Umbra, near Perugia (Italy). The system makes it possible to produce 3,000 mm wide air bubble film, which can be inline laminated with aluminium, paper, foam and any other coating material.

The Power Bubble 3000 is equipped with two co-rotating twin extruders that can process up to 900 kg/h of LDPE, LLDPE, mLLDPE and HDPE, and with a dedicated extruder for the third layer of the film. The fully automatic winder unit Triplex Plus, with three cantilevered shafts, can manage a winding cycle time of 40 seconds and reels with diameter from 350 mm to 1,200 mm.

Founded in the early 1970s, Polycell International belongs to the Polycell global group, a world leader in the production of air bubble film. The company currently relies on facilities in Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and USA.
